A SAFER System of Systems

We are routinely keeping our ear to the ground for new and exciting software that could function well with our own application. One innovative piece of software we have found is a system that many of our Oil, Gas and Hazmat customers may be aware of, as they have been serving these industries for over 30 years.

A System of Systems is a collection of systems that pool their resources and capabilities together to create a new, more complex system which offers more functionality and performance than simply the sum of the constituent systems.

SAFER’s software is designed to be used in managing the accidental emission of a hazardous airborne material such as a gas or toxic chemical. SAFER’s software takes the guesswork out of responding to chemical leaks, creating smarter responders through modeling the dispersion and relaying this information back to responders. Just like the crew here at Decisions [D4H], SAFER know that "Better Decisions Save Lives" and in order to make better decisions you must be well informed.

We have been aware of SAFER Systems for a while now and after exploring their product range we're clear of the benefits our customers might experience from adopting such a piece of software as well as the potential benefits from running our two systems in tandem. A system of systems, connecting and talking to each other.

The crew here at the [D4H] HQ was intrigued by the possibility of these incredibly complex and detailed plume tracking reports being fed into our system making reporting, management and analytics of the reports simpler and no doubt saving countless hours of responders time after these major events. Not only can the plume tracking simulations be saved and stored for analytics but they can also be used for training exercises, employee awareness, and what-if analysis.

Connecting information systems was one of the reasons we built Decisions [D4H]. What other technology would work well connected with [D4H]?
